Welcome to Boogieboo's Disco website I would like to personally welcome you inside and formally introduce myself. My name is John Tulley and I live with my partner Karen and I have a daughter called Becky who we nickname Beckyboo . The Disco is owned by my daughter i simply just do the dad bit and help her along the way.
I love Music and since i was a young lad music has always played a big part in my life. I used to go to the good old Workingmen's Clubs back in the day with my mum and dad and loved listening to the Live bands every weekend and the occasional Disco every bank holiday Monday or New years eve .
I am passionate to share all types of music from the 1940's to the present day as music is superb entertainment to be enjoyed by all your guests whatever their age group. Whatever music you love to hear either pop, Northern Soul, Rock n Roll, Motown we are guaranteed to share a fabulous wide variety of music.
When I was about 12 years old i used to DJ at a hospital for people with learning disabilities about once or twice a month unpaid of course and really enjoyed it and this lasted about 4 to 5 years before the hospital closed down for good. In that time I used to have two steeple-tone (click the link) record players with disco lights built into the small speakers and do private parties for Kids and this is how i earned a bit of pocket money. I would turn up with a pile of cheap records and everyone used to have a great time .
I left school when I was 16 and two years before i used to have a small Disco set up with Twin Turntables and a couple of disco box lights with me and my friend Steve from school. Our disco was called Dynamic Disco as we were known as the dynamic duo back then. Sadly to pursue a Career both me and Steve went our separate ways and the Disco world came to a grinding halt.
I always missed being a DJ and entertaining people and spent a number of years wishing to resurrect the music in me and start it off again and I developed a liking for Karaoke down my local pub and before you knew it i was researching and buying equipment and doing small venues and private parties and I have never looked back since. We got wedding booking's, 21st 40th, 50th, 60th birthday bookings and lots more cool events.
We decided to start up a Mobile disco and Karaoke service and I hired our disco to do my own 40th Birthday Party my daughter Beckyboo was my DJ for the evening and I named the disco after her which was quite fitting....Boogieboo's Disco Hire.
At the start of the CO-VID-19 Pandemic All Dj’s couldn’t operate / work so i decided to try my hand in Radio work. I then became a Radio DJ on Leicester Community Radio 94.1FM and had been Presenting a show every week on Thursday morning's from 10am till noon. The show is called "The Cosy Corner" . Its a lot more different to being a mobile DJ for one its a lot more calmer / relaxed surroundings. However now the Pandemic is over I could return back to Mobile DJ work.
Well that's the boring bit about us....If i can be of any further help or Guidance please do give me a call or email me ...Thanks for Looking and I look forward to catching up with you soon.
Kindest Regards
